Natural Rubber has been a core export product of the company since it was established in 1955. The rubber is in use in diverse industries located in many parts of the globe.

Natural rubber or Caouthoc originates from the Hevea Brasiliensis tree which is tapped for its milky sap or ‘latex’. Most of this latex is processed either into sheets or solid crumb rubber and then used in the manufacture of solid rubber based products such as tyres etc. Some of the latex is stored in its natural liquid form by preventing its coagulation through the use of chemicals. It is then used in the manufacture of latex-dipped products like gloves, balloons and condoms.

Originally, most of the solid rubber that we supplied was in the form of ribbed smoked sheets(RSS) or air-dried sheets. By the early 1970’s, however, technically specified rubber (TSR) was introduced. TSR is graded according to its dirt, ash and nitrogen content in addition to its volatile matter content and the so called plasticity retention index (PRI). The SMR 20 grade has an allowed dirt content of 0.2% while in SMR 10 this is up to 0.1%. The TSR grades most widely used by the tyre and, generally,other rubber products manufacturing industries are the Standard Malaysian Rubber, SMR 20 as well as the Standard Indonesian Rubber or SIR 20 grades.

By the mid-1970’s, we realised that there would be a major shift in the industry away from sheet grades and towards TSR grades. Accordingly, we began to agressively introduce and market Standard Malaysian Rubber grades such as SMR 20 to our tyre industry customersin various parts of the world. This paid off a few years later when many of the large multinational tyre companies began to use SMR 20 in the manufacture of their products. At present, about 70% of our total sales of natural rubber consists of SMR or SIR .

In 1989 we introduced our own proprietal range of graded TSR rubber - NAMRUB - to meet the growing demand for high quality block rubber with consistent properties. Ordinary rubber grades show a fair degree of variability in their properties, which is not a desirable feature in the manufacture of high performance tyres and other rubber products. To address this need, NAMRUB 10 and 20 was introduced.

Both grades NAMRUB 10 & 20 have excellent processing characteristics and less variability than ordinary grades. The use of only high quality raw materials and very strict quality control in their production ensures that they are an optimum choice for the manufacture of high quality and high performance passenger and truck tyres.

Namazie Shipping & Trading is a major exporter of latex concentrates of Malaysian and Thai origin. We supply latex concentrates both under our own brand - NAMTEX - as well as other standard brands. The latex is either transported in new steel drums or in bulk bags. Drums are, however, still the preferred mode of shipment due to lack of availability of bulk carrier facilities in many of the destination ports.

NAMTEX is 60% High Ammonia centriguged natural latex concentrate. It is sourced directly from major producers in both Thailand and Malaysia. Applications for NAMTEX are mainly in the dipped rubber goods industry, manufacturing products such as household and surgical gloves, condoms etc.

Namazie Shipping & Trading is a major importer and exporter of synthetic rubber and rubber chemicals used by the tyre, automobile and rubber goods industries.

Some of the synthetic rubber grades which we export include Poly Butadiene Rubber (PBR) and Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR). We act as distributors for major manufacturers in the USA and Europe and are suppliers of EPDM and other specialized products marketed under our principal’s brands.

We also supply a full range of chemicals for both the tyre as well as the rubber glove industries. These chemicals are sourced directly from various manufacturers worldwide. By cutting through lengthy distribution channels, we are able to provide fast, efficient delivery to our customers at the lowest possible cost.
