Founded by Mirza Yahya Namazie in Singapore as a small trading company dealing in various tropical products such as copra and coconut oil, sheet rubber, coffee beans. Its first offices were located at 66   The Arcade in Collyer Quay, then Singapore’s busy harbour as well as commercial centre.

The company began to import gypsum from Egypt and rapidly grew to become one of the largest importers and suppliers of gypsum in the region, supplying all the major cement manufacturers in both Malaysia and Singapore.

It began to trade and export block rubber ie Malaysian Standard Rubber (SMR) and was responsible for introducing this type of rubber to a number of markets in the Middle and Near East. The company became an active member of the Rubber Association of Singapore and the International Chamber Rubber Association.

The company’s Malaysian subsidiary, Namazie Trading Sdn. Bhd. was set up in Kuala Lumpur to facilitate the sourcing, shipping and financing of its natural rubber exports. Namazie Trading is a fully licensed dealing and shipping member of the Malaysian Rubber Exchange and Licensing Board.

The NAMRUB and NAMTEX brands of TSR rubber and latex respectively were introduced in order to ensure product consistency and to maintain the high standard of quality of its rubber shipments.
